Considerations

The below is the pixel density recommended for high detailed pictures. You may use a smaller pixel count than listed, but the pictures will not show as high of detail as the recommended size would.

For smaller images you should strive to have 90K per square inch or 300 dpi. For larger images which are view from further distances, 60K pixels per square inch or 200 dpi will work fine.

Below is a general recommendation of pixel size by picture dimension.

  • For a 8”x10” picture your image should be 5 Megapixels
  • For a 11”x14” picture your image should be at least 13 Megapixels
  • For a 16”x20” picture your image should be at least 16 Megapixels
  • For a 20”x30” picture your image should be at least 22 Megapixels
  • For a 24”x36” picture your image should be at least 40 Megapixels
  • For a 30”x45” picture your image should be at least 50 Megapixels
  • For a 40”x60” picture your image should be at least 75 Megapixels
